This will be a very special recital by two outstanding musicians, pianist Yianni Iliadis and flutist Vanessa Fourla.  They were both born in Greece and earning Master of Music at Bob Cole this spring. Before they leave for Miami for their doctorate studies, they have decided to give a recital at Hoson together!

  • F. Chopin: Polonaise-Fantasie Op. 61
  • F. Liszt: Transcendental Etude No. 10 in F minor
  • S. Rachmaninoff: Variations on a theme of Corelli, Op. 42
  • Th. Antoniou: Lament for Michelle (solo flute) 
  • S. Prokofiev: Sonata for flute and piano Op. 94

Vanessa Fourla was born in Greece and began her flute studies at the age of nine. She received a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from the University of Macedonia, Greece. In 2014 she came to the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB as a graduate student. She is a Cole scholar and the recipient of the Mitchell A. Berman scholarship. In August, she will join the Frost School of Music at University of Miami, in order to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute performance, under a full scholarship and a Teaching Assistantship position.

Yianni Iliadis is a graduate student in piano performance at CSULB. He completed his bachelor of music degree at the University of Macedonia, Greece and holds the piano diploma from the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, Greece. A recipient of the Bob Cole Scholarship, and the Frank A. Lee & Elaine Richey Scholarship, Yianni is also a winner of the 2014 Concerto Competition at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music.  In August 2016, he will begin his Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano performance at the Frost School of Music at University of Miami, where he was offered a full scholarship and a Teaching Assistantship position.
