Music of DREAM proudly presents the music of composer Dan McGurn and introduces vocalist Lea G, featuring Bobby Nafarrete on piano, Sydney Mariano on violin and Dan McGurn on trumpet.
Dan McGurn: From a featured jazz soloist with Ray Charles to playing principal trumpet with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra in Orange County, and having performed in many other professional venues in over 21 countries, Dan has a lot to draw from. He has over 300 compositions and this music is his passion. It will be presented by an amazing group of highly skilled and talented performers.
Lea G has been performing since the age of six in churches, at family celebrations and local singing competitions. She started as a professional cantor at the age of 15 and now holds two lead cantor positions. She received a scholarship to the Bob Cole Conservatory in Long Beach where she is currently studying voice and music.
Sydney Grace Mariano began studying violin at the age of six in Singapore before moving with her family to Irvine, CA. Sydney is now a sophomore at USC Thornton School of music. She won the Grand Prize at the 10th Annual Satori International Strings Solo competition and the 2014 Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra (PSYO) Concerto competition. She has performed solo for PSYO at the Segerstrom Performing Arts Center.
Bobby Nafarrete is experienced in many aspects of music from keyboarding to producing & more. He received a BA in Music for Commercial Composition & Arranging and MFA in Musical Theatre. He has worked with several productions from NBC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to the South Coast Repertory Theatre and many more. He is the Director of Music Ministry at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Los Alamitos.
