Andrew Dyquiangco, a 22-year-old outstanding pianist from Bob Cole Conservatory will give a stunning recital at the intimate Hoson House!   

Program:

  • Fantasia in C Major Hob XVII by Haydn
  • Piano Sonata in B Flat Major no. 8 Op. 84 by Prokofiev
  • Ballade no. 2 in B Minor S. 171 by Liszt

Andrew Dyquiangco is a senior Piano Performance major at California State University, Long Beach currently studying with Dr. Valentina Gottlieb. Andrew started taking piano lessons when he was 5 years old under the Suzuki method. At age 16, he began receiving instruction from Chizuko Asada.

Andrew entered CSULB as a Bob Cole scholar and has thrice received the John J. Shaak Scholarship in Piano. At the inaugural Beverly August piano competition, Andrew received first place. He has collaborated with many of the other students at his school. He has participated as accompanist in concerts, student recitals, and masterclasses.

Performances include a piano recital at the Richard Nixon Library, a benefit concert for the Philippine Cultural Center of America, Piano Showcase and Piano Plus concerts at his school, and participating as an orchestra member with the Corona Symphony Orchestra and the Cole Conservatory Orchestra. He has also performed in masterclasses for distinguished teachers at the International Keyboard Institute and Festival, International Institute for Young Musicians, and at the Cole Conservatory. This list includes names such as Steven Spooner, Nikolai Demidenko, Jeffrey Swann, and Jose Ramos Santana.
